    a) Decision-making, clinical reasoning and judgment

    c) Oral medicine management
    d) Periodontal management
    e) Caries and endodontic management
    f) Surgical procedures
    g) Pain and anxiety management
    h) Restorative/prosthodontics management
    i) Orthodontic management
    j) Emergency treatment
  • Health Promotion
Course will include but not limited to:
( History taking, Investigations, Radiographic interpretation, Diagnosis, Treatment planning, Patient communication, Peer communication).
Day 3:Morning sessionWritten OSCES:

  • Referral letters
  • Prescription writing
  • Health and Safety
  • Flap design 
  • Dental charting 
  • Periodontal investigations 
  • Radiographic reporting
  • Scope of practice
  • Denture design 

Afternoon session:

Medical emergency theory:

  • Basic life support
  • All possible medical emergencies
  • Asthma
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Adrenocortical insufficiency
  • Angina
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Epilepsy
  • Stroke
  • Choking
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Vasovagal syncope
  • Bleeding
  • Needlestick injury

Training on all available equipment:

  • BLS
  • Oxygen cylinder
  • Face mask
  • Spacer
  • Oropharyngeal airway
  • Intramuscular injection
  • Epipen/Anapen
  • All basic medication

Medical Emergency OSCE circuit practice.

Day 4:

Skilled OSCES

  • Dental Surveyor
  • Facebow transfer
  • Denture faults 
  • Surgical instruments 
  • Radiographic film holders
  • Intramuscular injection 
  • Periodontal supra and subgingival scaling 
  • BPE recording 
  • Handwashing
  • Waste disposal
  • Cephalometric tracing 
  • Dental charting
  • Dental extractions

Day 5:


Discussion of 50 Actor stations which covers:

(Ethical and legal principles, Principles of safe practice, Oral health / population-based healthcare, Peer communication, History taking , treatment planning)
