Removable Prosthodontics
Join our practical hands-on one-day course aimed to help dentists achieve a higher levels of skills and knowledge to deliver a successful removable partial dentures.
Many dentists find it hard to decide on the type of restoration and materials best serve the tooth condition and meet the expectation of the patients with a predictable outcome. Replacing missing teeth with removable prosthesis is a challenging treatment modality for dentists from diagnosis, planning and executing the treatment.
This course is designed to assist dentists to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to plan and design a partial removable denture and prepare the teeth and construct a removable partial denture
Aims and Objectives:
The participants in this course are expected to fulfil the following learning outcomes:
Having Insight into biomechanical considerations
Be able to Classify Edentulous status
Be able to carry out case selection and comprehensive care planning
Acquire the skills of surveying dental models and designing RPD considering aesthetics and function considerations
Learning outcomes:
GDC Development Outcome A & C
Be able to design RPD taking to account the prognosis of the abutment teeth.
Have skills and knowledge of treatment sequences
Have the knowledge FPD -RPD interface and be able to plan and carry out necessary preparations on the abutment teeth
Having the knowledge of laboratory stages of manufacturing RPD
Having the knowledge of managing complications

Dr. Touraj Nejatian
AD, DDS, PhD (Restorative Dentistry), AFHEA
Dr Nejatian qualified as a dentist (DDS) in 2001 and completed his PhD (dental materials) in 2008. He has 15 years of academic teaching experience both nationally and internationally including at several lead UK dental universities (Sheffield, Newcastle and UCL).
He is a member of the UK Higher Education Academy and has taught and supervised students on multiple programmes including BDS, DDS, MClinDent and MSC in the Restorative Dental Practice Course at Eastman Dental Institute. He also led prosthodontics, technical skills and clinical training sessions at different dental institutes
He is an LDS and ORE dental manikin examiner at Royal College of Surgeons and Eastman Dental Institute. He has presented several scientific papers at national and international conferences, published several peer-reviewed journal articles and co-authored in three different dental materials and restorative dentistry textbooks including a popular textbook titled ‘Extra Coronal Restorations’ published in August 2018.
