Gain confidence in supra- and subgingival professional mechanical plaque removal (PMPR) with ultrasonic scalers, hand scalers, and curettes in this one-day, focused hands-on training. Led by a periodontist, this course targets small candidate groups, ensuring high-quality, personalized teaching. Using phantom heads, participants will refine essential skills based on the latest evidence-based guidelines for managing Periodontitis.

Aims, Objectives & Learning Outcomes

Aims:

• To provide valuable insight into the clinical application of the latest and BSP guidelines.
• To develop your skills in diagnostic imaging, patient-specific treatment planning, and effective management of risk factors (e.g., smoking, diabetes).
• To enable participants to understand and apply evidence-based practices for the initial management of Periodontitis.

Objectives:

• Master the BSP periodontal disease classification and treatment guidelines.
• Develop proficiency in using hand and powered instruments for supra- and subgingival debridement.
• Learn to identify and distinguish supra-bony and infra-bony defects, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Gain the ability to prescribe systemic and local adjunctive antimicrobials where necessary.
• Understand how to use SOE software for comprehensive clinical record keeping and documentation.

Learning Outcomes:

• Accurately diagnose stage and grade of periodontitis based on the most recent BSP guidelines.
• Distinguish between suprabony and infrabony defects to guide treatment decisions.
• Confidently use the appropriate instruments for effective debridement.
• Understand when and how to prescribe adjunctive antimicrobials to complement non-surgical treatments.
• Know the legal implications of documentation and patient communication within a medical setting.
• Design patient-specific periodontal supportive care and recall intervals based on treatment guidelines

Courses are non-refundable.

A minimum of 5 candidates is required for the session to run. If the minimum number is not met, we reserve the right to transfer candidates to other available dates.

B) Non-Refundable Policy & Course Booking Postponement / Rescheduling Policy

All course bookings and subscriptions are strictly non-refundable.

Course booking tickets are transferable for the purpose of postponement or rescheduling only, provided that a written request to [email protected] is submitted at least four (4) weeks in advance of the scheduled start date.

Requests made with less than four (4) weeks’ notice may be declined and will be treated as a cancellation without refund.
